On 28 December 2006, the first drug consumption room in Düsseldorf opened in the inner courtyard of the

Opening hours:
- Monday to Friday from 8.30 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.
- Saturday, Sunday and public holidays from midday (12.00) to 7.30 p.m.
Drug addicts who use the drug consumption room
- have to be of age (18+),
- have their main place of residence in Düsseldorf and
- must not be getting substitution treatment.
Only drugs that have been brought with you can be consumed.
Occasional users and those using drugs for the first time will not be let in.
We offer people the chance to consume drugs (opiates, cocaine and amphetamines as well as their derivatives) under hygienic condition:
- intravenously, by inhalation or orally
- free disposal of sterile syringes and smoking utensils
- loan of tourniquets and cigarette lighters
- care in medical emergencies
Information and advice
- avoidance of infectious diseases such as the hepatitis viruses and HIV
- damage-minimising consumption practices
- legal issues all to do with illegal drugs
- chances to get substitution treatment
- chances to get off drugs and get therapy
